Job Description
AECOM is looking for a motivated environmental / health and safety professional to provide environmental and health and safety advice to our client. Within the role of junior-mid EHS Consultant you will be involved in a project for our client within the (foreign) Governmental department based in the region of Mons/ Bergen Belgium. Duties and key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist senior and mid level EHS Consultants in EHS Operational management by supporting our clients in drafting and implementing EHS procedures, developing and maintaining EHS legal registers, conducting risk assessments and supporting in the implementation of environmental and/or safety management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001,…)
Provide support in preparing and submitting environmental permit applications and collaborate with senior consultants to liaise with local authorities and stakeholders during the permitting process
Participate in environmental and health and safety compliance audits and assist in preparing audit reports and follow-up action plans for clients
Qualifications
You have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety Management, Environmental Engineering or related field.
Holding a diploma as an environmental coordinator (level A or B) or as a Prevention Advisor (Level 1 or 2) is considered a strong plus or interest in obtaining those certifications.
Basic knowledge of management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus)
You have 0-3 years of experience in EHS consulting or related fields. Internships or academic projects in EHS are highly valued
You have a basic understanding of Belgian EHS regulations and permitting processes
You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Dutch/French.
You have strong interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration
You are resilient and results oriented
You have willingness to learn and grown in the EHS field.
