Are you commercially driven and genuinely curious about how industrial companies operate? Do you understand that complex B2B software is not sold through a standard pitch, but by understanding processes, data, systems and business objectives? Ometa is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager – Industry & NPI who will take initial ownership of our NPI solution and develop its market in a focused, scalable way across manufacturing and food industries. We are not looking for a traditional salesperson who sells technology they do not understand. We are looking for someone with the technical-business depth to lead customer conversations independently, identify commercial opportunities and take responsibility for growth.

Company Description

Founded in 2001, Ometa helps organizations connect information, processes and systems in a smarter way. Through the Ometa Framework, we support complex, data-driven business processes across existing applications. In industrial environments, we connect systems such as ERP, MES, PLM, QMS, CRM and other business applications so that people can collaborate within the right business context while keeping data, decisions and actions traceable. Our customers include large national and international organizations. We operate with short decision lines, significant autonomy and close collaboration between business, sales and technical experts.

Job Description

This role combines business development, solution selling and market-driven solution development. You will start with a clear focus on NPI (New Product Introduction) and related industrial processes. You will build deep knowledge of the solution, translate reference cases into new markets and gradually develop a scalable go-to-market. You will independently lead discovery conversations with business and IT, structure complex customer challenges into clear use cases and business cases, and actively move opportunities through the full sales cycle. At the same time, you will stay close to product and delivery: identifying missing functionality, distinguishing customer-specific requests from improvements that strengthen the generic Ometa product, and feeding those insights back into development. Over time, you should be able to lead a complex industrial customer conversation independently – technically, commercially and strategically – without depending on another technical
or commercial expert to be present.

Responsibilities

1) NPI & Industry Solution Development:

  • Take ownership of the commercial development of our NPI solution and build a clear go-to-market covering target segments, messaging, references, partners, events, campaigns and target accounts.
  • Develop strong understanding of industrial processes around NPI, product lifecycle, master data, quality, engineering, production preparation and supply chain.
  • Understand how information and knowledge connect across customer, supplier, engineering, quality, operations, production and back-office domains.
  • Translate reference cases into concrete use cases and opportunities across other companies, plants, business units and industries.
  • Feed market insights and missing functionality back to product and development, while distinguishing one-off customer requests from scalable product improvements.

2) Business Development & Hunting:

  • Independently identify target markets, target accounts, relevant companies and decision-makers rather than waiting for inbound leads.
  • Approach the market systematically: prospect, create meetings, qualify opportunities, build pipeline and close deals.
  • Recognize fragmented processes based on Excel, email, stand-alone applications and manual handovers and turn these into commercial opportunities.
  • Build relationships with business sponsors, budget owners, IT, operations, product management, plant management and executives.
  • Develop opportunities in Belgium and internationally.

3) Solution Selling & Deal Ownership:

  • Lead discovery conversations with both business and IT and structure complex needs into a clear use case, scope and business case.
  • Understand architecture, integrations, data flows and the interaction between PLM, ERP, MES, QMS, CRM and other business applications.
  • Translate technology into tangible business value: shorter time-to-market, fewer errors, better collaboration, stronger traceability and governance, and less manual work.
  • Address budget, timing, competition, procurement, decision-making and buying power explicitly, and disqualify opportunities when there is no realistic business case.
  • Negotiate and close complex enterprise deals while protecting the long-term customer relationship.

4) Customer Growth & Strategic Follow-up:

  • Remain involved after the sale as a commercial and solution-oriented point of co
