Purpose

Managing processes related to product testing. Define testing methods for all products and Support all testing equipment, automations, auxiliary tools, work instructions & training in order to organize the testing of products in the most optimal way, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, visual management and performance monitoring (KPIs).

Areas of responsibility

  • Managing processes/projects related to testing equipment, structures and methods, in Operations as support for the Industrialization team, with a focus on continuous improvement of robustness, efficiency and reliability.
  • Organize the startup and follow-up of new or modified tests for existing products; electric production testing of new or modified products, including the monitoring of relevant KPIs.
  • Managing improvement projects in the testing department (e.g. reduction of test time, increase in test reliability, error-proofing, digitalization), using continuous improvement methodologies (PDCA, root cause analysis, problem solving tools) and tracking progress via KPIs.
  • Implement and maintain visual management in the testing area (dashboards, andon/alarms, status boards, standard work displays, 5S visuals) to support daily performance reviews and quick deviation detection.
  • Define, monitor and regularly review testing-related KPIs (e.g. capacity utilization, test lead time, non-conformities, equipment availability) and lead corrective and preventive actions based on KPI trends.
  • Support writing procedures, specifications, manuals and production documentation (SOP, IPP, …), ensuring they reflect continuous improvement actions and are presented in a clear and visual way where appropriate.
  • Give training about improvements of new tools and machines to production and maintenance staff, including explanations of related KPIs and visual standards so that teams understand how to use, monitor and improve the testing processes.
  • Give technical support to Tool Design, Process, Automation, Production, and contribute to cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives involving testing.
  • Compliance with Group Guidelines & Procedures, with Health, Safety & Environment Guidelines & procedures, risk management & Internal control
  • Respect and implement the Group Guidelines & Procedures regarding antitrust, Ethical code of conduct and internal controlling procedures related to the job responsibility, in particular with relation to agents, consultants, competition, customers & suppliers. Respect the Group timeline regarding the follow-up of the yearly actions (e-learning, signing of certificates, …).
  • Respect and implement the rules concerning health, safety & wellbeing at work. Contribute to improvements (inform about deviations and possible risks, propose actions for improvement to Management), and integrate HSE aspects into continuous improvement projects and visual management in the testing area.

Expected results

  • Delivery of qualitative, robust and standardized testing solutions on time and in line with project and customer requirements.
  • Implementation and maintenance of visual management (dashboards, status boards, standard work visuals) in the testing area to support daily performance follow-up.
  • Monitoring and improvement of testing KPIs (e.g. test lead time, first-pass yield, equipment availability, non-conformities), with clear action plans in case of deviations.
  • Continuous improvement of testing methods, equipment and documentation, resulting in higher reliability, reduced test time, and lower risk of production disturbances.

Position Sizing

  • Follows up operators during the first production runs with new or modified test equipment, ensuring correct application of test methods, stability of results and immediate feedback in case of issues.
