Van Heyghen Staal is a modern steel service center located in Evergem, in the Ghent canal zone near the Port of Ghent. Founded in 1981, the company processes around 250,000 tons of steel plates per year on its cut-to-length and slitting lines, and supplies hot-rolled sheets, plates and slit coils to clients across Europe in a wide range of sectors. Its strong position in the European market is built on quality, innovation, service and just-in-time delivery. To support its automated production lines and upcoming projects, Van Heyghen Staal is looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer in Electromechanics.

Job description
- Managing spare parts and helping plan preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Analyzing breakdowns and developing sustainable solutions.
- Actively contributing to investment and innovation projects.
- Coaching and supporting the technical team so that production runs continuously and optimally.
- Taking part in a rotation to coordinate Saturday maintenance approximately every 6 weeks.
- Contributing to digitalization and automation projects.
- Supporting energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitoring and improving technical safety procedures.
- Involvement in a production line renewal project.
