To lead and develop the Sea Freight Import team, ensuring operational excellence, high levels of customer service, and efficient handling of all import activities. The role is responsible for supporting team development, maintaining service standards, driving productivity, and ensuring day-to-day operations are executed accurately and within required timeframes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Lead, coach, develop, and motivate the Sea Freight Import team, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
- Oversee day-to-day import operations, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and service standards.
- Allocate workloads effectively and ensure departmental SOPs, KPIs, and Key Result Areas (KRAs) are consistently achieved.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to strengthen operational capability and service delivery.
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational, service, and customer-related issues and implement corrective actions where required.
- Manage staffing, leave planning, and resource allocation to ensure business continuity and adequate customer coverage.
- Ensure files are processed and closed accurately, reflecting the correct operational and financial outcomes.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Pricing, Warehouse, Transport, vendors, and overseas offices to ensure seamless cargo movement and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, operational updates, service levels, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, efficiency, customer experience, and profitability.
- Support operational transformation initiatives and organizational changes as required by the business.
- Contribute to management discussions and provide recommendations to improve the overall performance of the import function.
- Complete additional tasks, projects, and assignments as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant industry experience required; logistics, supply chain
- Minimum 5 years of Import operation LCL experience
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills (English required); excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
