We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join our team as an IT Operations Coordinator, Europe. This role is critical in coordinating our IT operations across Europe and North America, ensuring seamless communication and efficient problem-solving. We are not just looking for technical proficiency - we need someone capable of understanding the bigger picture and who is comfortable coordinating efforts across multiple technical teams. Additionally, this role will function as "boots on the ground," occasionally troubleshooting physical networking or conference room equipment issues.
Who You Are
- You’re comfortable communicating in English and French, both written and spoken.
- You’re interested in working for a global company with teams spread across time zones and geographies. You’re excited by the idea of working for an organization that responds to breaking news and consequential political developments.
- You enjoy problem-solving and directing various teams in a plan of attack.
- You’re comfortable being a coordinator and enjoy connecting colleagues around you.
- You have demonstrated experience in help desk, networking and information security. Even if not deep knowledge for all three, you know enough to call in the right colleagues when there’s an issue.
- You’re comfortable with occasional travel to London or Paris, if needed.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a go-between for our help desk, networking and information security teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
- Interface and liaise with our managed service provider in Brussels.
- Provide and implement constructive suggestions for process improvements.
- Act as a key on-the-ground player during projects or emergencies.
- Occasional Active Directory administration, including provisioning accounts.
- Support and troubleshoot conference room equipment.
- Serve as a jack-of-all-trades, confidently calling in reinforcements when needed.
- Work closely with our managed service partner, understanding organizational needs, directing coverage, and facilitating connections.
- Maintain consistent contact with HR, facilities and our global IT operations teams.
- Interact with technical teams at POLITICO in North America and the EU as well as with Axel Springer teams in Europe.
- Focus on building IT literacy by providing frequent trainings on work related tools (1Password, AI tools, Cybersecurity best practices)
- Previous experience in procurement and vendor negotiations is a plus.
What You'll Need
- Excellent spoken and written English and French.
- Some experience with Active Directory administration.
- Familiarity with network equipment and the ability to assist in emergencies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Experience working with managed service providers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, effectively coordinating and connecting various stakeholders.
