We are looking for a Specialist Global Allotments based in Diegem, Belgium, to support DHL Express' global capacity management strategy by ensuring accurate capacity forecasts and customer allotments are effectively managed across the network. In this role, you will play a vital part in balancing supply and demand, enabling the ACS Sales teams to maximize revenue opportunities while ensuring optimal utilization of network capacity.
Working closely with Capacity Management, Network Planning, Operations, and Sales teams across the globe, you will monitor forecast data, manage customer allotments, analyze utilization trends, and identify opportunities to improve network performance. Through your expertise in capacity planning and space optimization, you will help ensure that DHL continues to deliver industry-leading service and operational efficiency.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
- Ensure capacity forecasts meet quality standards and are correctly uploaded into downstream applications and systems.
- Monitor forecast data flows and proactively resolve issues affecting data quality or availability.
- Process and maintain customer allotment requests within agreed service levels and timelines.
- Analyze customer allocation requirements and provide recommendations that support revenue growth and network optimization.
- Monitor space utilization and identify opportunities for sales steering activities to improve network contribution.
- Conduct regular analysis of allotment performance, traffic flows, and utilization trends.
- Ensure the right traffic flows are aligned to available flight and network capacity.
- Work closely with Network and Capacity Management teams to maximize the utilization of seasonal and structural capacity.
- Monitor network capacity changes and maintain accurate capacity settings within iCargo.
- Support revenue generation by ensuring the accuracy of available sellable capacity.
- Act as a key point of contact for the Global ACS Sales community regarding customer allocation requests and capacity-related inquiries.
- Support and provide backup for the manager on allocation management topics when required.
- Collaborate with ACS regions to resolve recurring capacity and allocation challenges.
- Identify and implement solutions for conflicting regional requirements and operational constraints.
- Serve as a central contact point for day-to-day capacity management and allotment-related issues.
Do you have what it takes?
- University degree or equivalent professional experience; a cargo-related qualification is considered an advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Capacity Planner within DHL or a comparable logistics, airline, or cargo environment.
- Strong knowledge of DHL products, operational processes, and network structures.
- Understanding of aircraft and truck specifications and their impact on capacity planning.
- Strong expertise in load planning, space optimization, and capacity utilization.
- Experience working with capacity forecasting, allocation management, and demand planning processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance competing priorities.
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis techniques used for forecasting and optimization.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced and operationally complex environment.Flexibility to adjust plans quickly in response to changing demand or network disruptions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Operations, Capacity Management, and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant planning and operational systems; experience with iCargo is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
