NetBox & Network Security Consultant - Remote with visits to Brussels - Freelance

Type of contract: Freelance (Initial 10 month contract + extensions)

Location: Ideally based in Brussels or willing to travel frequently

We are looking for a consultant who can support a network assessment and architecture initiative with a strong focus on inventory management, network analysis, and security-related services. The ideal candidate should have proven experience with NetBox (mandatory) and a strong background in network and security technologies. While the consultant will receive support from our Network Engineering team whenever required, we are looking for someone who can work independently and lead technical assessment activities.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience with NetBox (mandatory).
• Experience with network management and monitoring tools.
• CCNP‑level networking knowledge or equivalent practical experience.
• Good understanding of load balancing technologies.
• Network security expertise.
• Wi‑Fi networking knowledge.
• Preferably based in Brussels or willing to travel regularly.

Key Activities

The consultant is expected to contribute to activities such as:

• Assessment of the customer's current network infrastructure, web access architecture, and security controls.
• Analysis of existing network management and inventory information within NetBox.
• Identification of technical, operational, and security requirements.
• Evaluation of potential solution options, including architecture, deployment approaches, and licensing considerations.
• Preparation of assessment and recommendation reports, including high‑level architecture, risks, assumptions, and implementation prerequisites.
• Development of an implementation roadmap with indicative timelines, resource requirements, and implementation cost estimates for a potential follow‑on phase.

Additional experience with the following technologies would be highly valuable:

• Data Centre, Routing & Switching technologies (Cisco, Juniper, HPE, etc.).
• SDN, SDA, and SD‑WAN solutions.
• Load balancing platforms (F5, A10, Radware, etc.).
• DNS and DHCP platforms.

Project Timeline

The project is currently expected to start towards the end of September, although the start date may be postponed. The initial duration is estimated at approximately 10 months, with potential for extension depending on project evolution.
