Project Manager – PPQ (Freelance) | Liège, Belgium
Full-time · Start ASAP · Initial contract to end of March 2027, project runs to 2028
Our client is a biologics contract manufacturer (CDMO) in the Liège region. They’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive a large Process Performance Qualification (PPQ) programme for two molecules heading toward commercial submission. You’ll work alongside the current PM and take co-ownership of a cross-functional project of around 30 people.
What you’ll do
- Co-lead the end-to-end PPQ programme for two molecules, from pre-PPQ activities through to the three consecutive PPQ batches used for market authorisation.
- Drive the integrated plan across:
- risk assessments
- process characterisation
- analytical method validation for release and in-process controls
- PPQ readiness in manufacturing
- Keep the project on track when things slip, by spotting what can run in parallel, rescheduling and pushing teams where needed.
- Coordinate subject-matter experts across process development, QC, QA and manufacturing.
- Track hundreds of actions and report progress to management and the client, with client meetings held in English.
- Handle project administration, including planning tools and invoicing.
What you bring
- Proven experience running PPQ campaigns end-to-end, including pre-PPQ. You understand the whole process, not just parts of it.
- At least 3 years of project management experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, managing large, complex plans.
- Biologics experience is a plus. Strong PPQ experience from small molecules is also welcome.
- Fluent professional English. French is a strong advantage, as most of the team is French-speaking.
- A firm but positive, constructive leadership style that gets people on board.
- Experience with project planning tools such as MS Project. Smartsheet is a plus.
This is a project management role, not a hands-on technical one.
What’s on offer
- A long‑term, high‑impact project taking two molecules to commercial production.
- An experienced team that includes dedicated PPQ expertise.
- Work on‑site in Liège, ideally 4–5 days per week.
- A competitive day rate.
