We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our client in Leuven. You will drive enterprise-wide automation initiatives across critical IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation platforms, security solutions, and large-scale infrastructure transformation projects.
The assignment
- Manage and continuously improve the Ansible Automation Platform, including governance, integrations, platform lifecycle management, and automation standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and PowerShell for infrastructure, cloud, and operational environments.
- Implement and support automation for certificate management, secrets management, and security-related processes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, identity, and application teams to onboard and scale automation initiatives across the organization.
- Document solutions, share knowledge, and coach teams on automation best practices and platform adoption.
Required knowledge and skills
- Having at least a Bachelor degree is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) is mandatory or AWX, including workflows, inventories, credentials, and RBAC.
- Strong Linux administration skills and working knowledge of Windows automation technologies such as PowerShell, WinRM, and Active Directory.
- Experience with scripting : PowerShell (mandatory) and Python, Git-based development workflows, and API integrations
- Good understanding of security principles, including secrets management, access control, and least-privilege concepts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple technical domains and translate requirements into automation solutions.
