The Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the establishment, implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Program by maintaining and enhancing EHS procedures, systems, training, equipment and documentation.

This position reports to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and is part of the EHS team located in Leuven and will be an on‑site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Monitor and maintain EHS performance, including tracking key performance indicators and performing site tours. Facilitate the preparation and reporting of EHS metrics.
Lead incident investigations and perform root cause analysis using recognized methodologies (e.g., 5‑why, fact tree analysis). Evaluate and develop corrective and preventative action plans and communicate with stakeholders.
Communicate and build awareness of the EHS management system – including planning, coordination and facilitating onboarding and ongoing training for associates.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the EHS management system.
Support, maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System, including but not limited to waste management programs, chemical storage, internal audits, etc. (ISO14001 standard).

The essential requirements of the job include:

Working knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements.
Required Prevention Advisor level III, preferred level II.
Preferred EHS experience in a chemical handling/manufacturing environment.
Preferred knowledge of ISO Standards, ISO 14001 is a plus.
Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

ISO standards internal auditing programs.
First aid and/or chemical spill cleanup.
