Job Description

OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of our recent developments and new strategic focus, we are looking for a fundraising volunteer to assist us in following up and implementing our fundraising pipeline, including but not limited to corporates, foundations, EU grant opportunities, interest to explore partnerships related to our core strategic topics: social entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and youth empowerment. This is a great opportunity to experience working in the not-for-profit/social entrepreneurship sector and take on significant mission-driven responsibilities.

main Roles And Responsibilities

Fundraising & Revenue Development

  • Explore the current fundraising pipeline developed by a strategic taskforce: identify the strongest leads, initiate first contact [AH2.1][RG2.2], follow‑up on existing outreach.
  • Assist Ashoka’s team on day‑to‑day outreach, follow‑up and operational support: Track conversations, follow‑ups, and opportunities.
  • Prepare outreach materials, presentations, and tailored pitches.
  • Help generate new leads through European opportunities and other strategic funders.

Operational & Strategic Support

  • Monitor, maintain and improve internal tracking systems and processes.
  • Contribute to dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Support internal coordination and workflow optimization.
  • Assist on reporting EU consortium opportunities.

Volunteer Logistics

Estimated hours required per week: 23 to 38 (flexible).

The estimated duration of the project is: 3–6 months.

This position is On‑site in Brussels Belgium.

The office can provide amenities to volunteers such as: Local travel expenses.

Language Requirements

English.

Desired Skills And Experience

Candidates must be based in Belgium.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for social entrepreneurship and the following skills:

  • Interest in the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem: Some familiarity with the social entrepreneurship landscape, whether in Belgium or globally.
  • Proficient with Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): Strong skills in Excel to effectively handle data and contribute to the fundraising database and dashboard.
  • No pre‑defined seniority level, roles and responsibilities will be adapted accordingly.
  • Fluent in English; Proficient in French and/or Dutch is an advantage but not required.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of the Belgian and EU funding landscape: past experience or keen interest on business development with EU grants / tenders / call for projects.
