Join Waterleau and help us deliver projects that make a difference

At Waterleau, successful projects depend on strong ownership, clear communication and the ability to bring people together around a common goal. As our portfolio of client and internal projects continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to strengthen our team.

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of several projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected quality standards. You will work across functions, coordinate internal teams and external partners, and act as a key point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

What will you do?

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish, including scope, planning, budget, timeline, quality and risk.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones and resource forecasts, closely monitoring progress and reporting on project status.
  • Manage project budgets and forecasts, identifying deviations early and driving corrective actions where required.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external suppliers, resolving dependencies and removing blockers.
  • Manage stakeholder communication, expectations and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify, track and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with internal governance, quality standards and applicable regulations.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of our project management practices.

Who are we looking for?

You are an experienced project manager who is comfortable taking ownership and managing several projects at the same time. You combine structured planning and financial awareness with strong stakeholder and team-management skills.

Ideally, you bring:

  • A minimum of 5–10 years of project management experience.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A strong track record of delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.
  • Good knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Strong budgeting, planning and risk-management capabilities.
  • The ability to communicate confidently with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct line authority.
  • Professional English, combined with Dutch and/or French.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Planview or similar.
  • A project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, PMI-ACP or Scrum is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in our sector is considered an asset.

What can you expect?

You will join Waterleau in a role with significant ownership and visibility, working across teams to deliver projects successfully for our clients and our organisation. You will have the opportunity to influence not only individual project outcomes, but also the way we continuously improve our project management practices.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Wespelaar.
