Within the new Group IT organisation, Client is rolling out a federated architecture operating model: a single common architecture direction at group level, with local implementation at 50Hertz and client Transmission Belgium. The consultant converts this approved model into concrete working agreements and works together with the enterprise, domain, technical and solution architects and with the portfolio, security, data and project teams. He or she advises and supervises the implementation, but does not make decisions in the place of the internal managers.

The consultant is responsible for:

  • Create and execute an implementation plan (backlog, milestones, risks, pilots)
  • Develop the architecture governance framework: principles, standards, reference architectures and a clear decision flow via the Architecture Review Board
  • Define mandates, decision-making rights and escalation paths of the different architecture roles
  • Establish or improve ARBs at group and local level and supervise the first sessions
  • Implement architecture decision records, waivers, exceptions and a fast-track procedure
  • Involve architecture early on in portfolio, demand intake, delivery, security, data and supplier selection, without additional layers of approval
  • Coaching architects, setting up an Architecture Community and transferring knowledge
