We’re therefore, looking to recruit a Data Manager (m/f/x) for our Digital & IT department.

Job purpose:

The Data Manager is responsible for defining, structuring and driving the Group-wide data strategy, ensuring data quality, security and regulatory compliance while enabling value creation across operations, finance, ESG and advanced analytics.

The role reports to the Director Digital & IT and acts as the executive owner of data for the Fluxys Group.

Your responsibilities:

Data strategy and governance

Define and implement an enterprise data strategy aligned with Fluxys’ corporate strategy and energy transition objectives.

Establish and operate a clear data governance model (data domains, data owners, data stewards, decision rights).

Define and enforce policies and standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, access rights and data lifecycle management.

Promote a consistent, enterprise wide "data driven" and "trusted data" culture.

Data architecture and platforms

Design the target data architecture, including OT/IT integration, data products, and analytics enablement.

Ensure coherence of data models (master data, reference data, exchange standards, APIs) across the Group.

Oversee enterprise data platforms, including data catalogues, quality tooling, reporting and analytics foundations.

Regulatory compliance and data security

Work closely with Cybersecurity, IT Architecture, Regulatory Affairs, Legal and People& Organisation department, to ensure secure, resilient and traceable data.

Define and oversee information security and data protection policies in line with critical infrastructure requirements.

Value creation and advanced use cases

Identify, prioritise and steer high value data and analytics use cases (e.g. asset health and maintenance, capacity and balancing, emissions and methane reporting, financial and performance insights).

Build the AI ready data foundations required for advanced analytics and industrialised AI use cases.

Leadership and organisation

Manage a team of 10-15 internal and external experienced experts.

Build and lead a central Data function (governance, architecture, platforms, data protection).

Coordinate and enable distributed data teams across business units and subsidiaries through a federated model.

Manage budgets, planning, performance and capability development for the data function.

Act as a strategic partner and advisor to senior management on all data related topics.

About you:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in data, IT, engineering, economics or a related field
  • 10 years of professional experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles within data, IT or digital functions
  • Proven experience in defining and deploying enterprise‑wide data strategies in complex organisations, covering objectives, roadmaps, programmes and projects, with sufficient level of detail to ensure effective execution; results‑oriented, with the ability to turn obstacles into levers for impact
  • Strong ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into pragmatic, scalable data solutions
  • Proven experience working in agile and Scrum ways of working, aligned with organisational strategy, objectives and roadmaps
  • Strong expertise in data management, data governance, data architecture and information management
  • Solid understanding of OT/IT environments, modern data platforms, metadata management and data quality frameworks
  • Good knowledge of information security and regulatory data requirements
  • 5+ years of people management experience, demonstrating a strategic mindset to navigate highly complex, multi‑stakeholder environments, credible leadership with the ability to influence without direct authority, strong accountability and results orientation focused on value creation, and resilience in leading change
