Junior Associate Litigation, Arbitration & General CommercialStibbe is a leading independent Benelux law firm with main offices in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg, and a branch office in London. Our Brussels office is one of the leading law firms in the Belgian market, with around 160 lawyers in 12 practice groups. We provide our clients with high-quality legal advice and representation in an international context.
About the Role
Our Litigation, Arbitration & General Commercial practice group helps clients resolve their most business-critical disputes seamlessly and with the highest degree of efficiency. Our talented and diverse team brings a distinctive, full-service footprint across both litigation and arbitration. To support the continued growth of our practice, we are looking for a Junior Associate with a passion for delivering top-notch work.
Responsibilities
- Joining our team means you will:
- Work on a wide variety of high-level contentious and advisory matters, often with an international dimension;
- Receive excellent training while taking first-line ownership of your own matters;
- Collaborate with experienced associates and partners across our various practice areas on large national and international cases;
- Engage directly with clients and opposing parties, and learn to represent clients in both negotiations and legal proceedings;
- Sharpen your language skills as you will work in French, English and (ideally) Dutch at least passively.
Qualifications
- You have a Belgian law degree with an excellent academic record;
- You have 1 to 3 years of experience as a lawyer in a litigation department.

- You have a real passion for law and an appetite for working on challenging, high-level cases, with the confidence to take on responsibility;
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to communicate your thinking clearly and persuasively;
- You are a native French speaker with business-level proficiency in English (both written and spoken);
- You focus on building strong relationships with clients and providing high-quality advice;
- You have a collaborative mindset and a natural ease in connecting with people.
Preferred Skills
- Sharpen your language skills as you will work in French, English and (ideally) Dutch at least passively.
