UX Designer - Design System & Accessibility role based in Brussels, Belgium for an experienced UX Designer. The position focuses on designing intuitive interfaces, maintaining and evolving a design system, ensuring accessibility (including WCAG 2.1) and conducting user research and testing. The employer is a Belgian SME and freelance engagement is also possible.
What you'll do
- Design intuitive user interfaces and contribute to continuous improvement of application user experience
- Maintain and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility and updates of components, patterns and guidelines, and support teams in its correct use
- Participate in needs analysis to understand users and their context and define functional requirements
- Define and plan research methods and contribute to recruiting participants to collect insights via interviews, surveys, focus groups and user tests
- Propose appropriate solutions and design low- and high-fidelity interfaces using a mobile-first approach
- Support analysts and developers in UI design and ensure developed applications meet user needs and context
- Ensure compliance with accessibility and UX/UI standards, notably WCAG 2.1
- Maintain regular and effective communication with stakeholders and the team throughout projects

- Confirmed experience as an UX Designer
- Portfolio required (applications without a portfolio will be automatically refused)
- Experience in designing, managing and maintaining design systems and contributing to their evolution
- Familiarity with Axure
- Familiarity with Conceptboard
- Familiarity with Figma
- Familiarity with Mentimeter
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1
