PhD Researcher: AI-driven Employee‑Customer Relationship Management in the Service Sector
Vlerick Business School, in collaboration with Glowi, invites applications for a 4‑year PhD researcher to explore AI‑supported employee‑customer relationship management in the cleaning services sector.
Responsibilities
- Combine academic research with direct business impact, translating data and AI insights into real‑world applications.
- Conduct academic and applied research, including data collection, modelling, AI agent development, evaluation, and reporting.
- Disseminate insights through papers, reports, workshops, presentations, and social media for both academic and business audiences.
- Work with client and employee data from Glowi to develop predictive models and AI‑driven solutions operationalised within the organisation.
- Design and evaluate genAI‑supported workflows and AI agents embedded in existing processes.
- Collaborate with Glowi’s Data & AI team and business stakeholders to improve key business KPIs.
- Work closely with faculty, researchers, and support the activities of the research area.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business analytics, business engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, business administration, economics, computer science, civil engineering, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent discipline.
- Distinctions (cum laude or higher) or other high academic honours at bachelor’s and master’s levels.
- Strong communication skills and a business mindset, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and take up responsibilities.
- Passion for research with a strong analytical mindset.
- Solid knowledge of data analytics and machine learning.
- Programming experience with Python and SQL.
- Preferably experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, with excellent writing skills.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to present findings to academic and business audiences.
