Volume Meshing Software Engineer

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a software development professional with experience in the development of CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Applications to contribute to our Simcenter STAR-CCM+ meshing software. Simcenter STAR-CCM+ is a highly scalable, general purpose, multi-physics application that provides an end-to-end user experience with integrated CAD (Computer Aided Design), meshing, physics modeling and in situ post processing tools.

As a member of the Volume Meshing team, you will be working on generating volume meshes for simulation. Types of volume meshes we develop are Tetrahedral and Dualized Tetrahedral meshes with Boundary Layer Meshers and Cartesian Cut Cell with Boundary Layers

This work may include but not be limited to:

• Adapting algorithms for MPI parallelization and scalability
• Advancing the quality of generated meshes
• Extending anisotropic boundary layer generation capabilities

What you'll be working on:

As part of the Volume Meshing team, you will help develop the technology behind the generation of high-quality volume meshes for simulation. This includes tetrahedral and dualized tetrahedral meshing with boundary layer generation, as well as Cartesian cut-cell meshing technologies.

Your work may include:

• Collaborating with product managers, application specialists, and software engineers to understand customer needs and product requirements.
• Designing and implementing meshing capabilities in STAR-CCM+.
• Developing and optimizing algorithms for distributed-memory parallel computing (MPI).
• Advancing mesh generation quality and performance.
• Creating automated tests to support software reliability.
• Reviewing software changes and collaborating with other developers across the code base.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• An M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent industry experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Visualization, or a related field.
• Experience developing surface and/or volume meshing algorithms.
• Experience developing distributed-memory paralell algorithms (MPI)Strong C++ software development skills and experience building object-oriented applications.
• Experience developing meshing solutions within a commercial software environment.
• 3D CAD modeling concepts, such as NURBS and B-Splines.

Our Benefits & Rewards

The primary locations for this opportunity are France, Belgium, Spain and Romania. The applicable salary ranges for these locations are:

• France: 52.800€ - 89.700€
• Belgium: 61.500€ - 110.700€
• Spain: 52.100€ - 83.300€
• Romania: 186.000 RON - 353.300 RON

This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
