About the Role

Cost Engineering Specialist – Join the YEMEA Headquarters in Lummen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing cost estimation and sales price proposals in accordance with calculation conditions defined by BU and OEM agreed Standard times.
  • Calculate costing & pricing for engineering changes (ECRs), cost reduction proposals (VAVEs), new drawings and price walk releases.
  • Update offer calculations according to commercial agreements (copper rate, component prices, productivities).
  • Track Cost Control Module price follow‑ups and focus on profitability improvement by performing margin improvement on cost reduction or price increase opportunities.
  • Track margin improvement progress/achievement.
  • Defend prices to customers.
  • Manage component prices (purchasing, sales price, gross margin).
  • Follow up actions with Supply Management.
  • Perform and promote continuous improvement activities, ensuring progress in speed, accuracy and efficiency of department outputs.
  • Encourage error registration, follow the PDCA process and promote lessons learned within the team.
  • Support activities management, coordinating and planning team workload vs. HC in accordance with department goals and CSC needs.
  • Participate in quality management activities and internal audits when requested.
  • Report claims received via non‑CRS channels to the Quality Department and its responsible person.
  • Participate in customer claim investigation and treatment.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions and confirm B113its efficiency.
  • Inform customers on how and where a claim should be filed and keep them informed about ongoing claims.
  • Manage all claims according to their urgency and severity, treating customers with courtesy.
  • Commit to the organization’s management, quality, and AS&S systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering.
  • Experience performing similar tasks in large multinational companies.
  • Product and production process knowledge.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, supply chain, equipment needed, design processes, KSK concept, etc.
  • Understanding key business drivers and using this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • Ability to fully understand relevance of KPIs and proactively contribute to business profitability.
  • Impact quality of own work and that of others on the team, working within guidelines and policies.
  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Solve problems in straightforward situations, analyzing possible solutions using technical experience.
  • Good spoken and written knowledge of English.
  • Good know‑how in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.
