We are seeking a Java Architect to join our team. The role involves leading the design and implementation of comprehensive technical solutions while collaborating closely with business and development stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop detailed technical architectures and implementation guidelines.
  • Gather and analyse technical requirements with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop solution prototypes and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • Define non‑functional requirements, performance budgets and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Plan system capacity, scalability, observability and reliability patterns.
  • Contribute to full‑stack development, including front‑end and back‑end implementation.

Required qualifications

  • At least 10 years of professional IT experience.
  • University degree in any field of study.
  • Strong expertise in software architecture, design patterns and distributed systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OVH) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in back‑end (Java, Python, Spring Boot) and front‑end (Angular, React, JavaScript) development.

  • Enterprise integration patterns.

Databases & Data

  • Database management systems and data modelling.
  • Relational databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL.
  • Complex SQL queries and database design.

Security

  • Understanding of software and infrastructure security principles and best practices.
  • Secure API and application architecture.

Knowledge of AI development tools such as Kiro is also relevant to the position.

Project & Delivery Management

  • Strategic planning.
  • Budgeting and forecasting.
  • Financial modelling and performance tracking.
  • Agile, Scrum and Lean Agile methodologies.
  • PRINCE2 and/or PMBOK knowledge.
  • JIRA and Microsoft Project.
  • Confluence and SharePoint.
  • Stakeholder mapping and structured communication plans.
  • Reporting and governance.
  • Meeting facilitation.
  • Guiding project teams and reviewing deliverables.
  • Managing risks, dependencies and changing priorities.
