Senior Functional Test Lead – Cypress

Our client, a prominent organization in the transportation and logistics sector, is seeking a Senior Functional Test Lead to drive quality assurance for critical operational software. This role focuses on defining comprehensive test strategies and taking end-to-end ownership of application quality to support essential transit personnel and operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall test approach for operational applications to ensure high-quality delivery aligned with business needs.
• Translate complex requirements into actionable test cases for functional, integration, and end-to-end testing cycles.
• Manage the full defect lifecycle, ensuring clear prioritization and resolution in collaboration with development teams.
• Lead quality assurance efforts within Agile ceremonies, refining acceptance criteria and ensuring the testability of user stories.
• Drive the integration of automated testing frameworks for front-end and API validation.
• Coach and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automation testing.
• 3+ years experience with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, or WebdriverIO.
• 3+ years experience working in Agile environments in close collaboration with Product Owners.
• 2+ years experience in API testing using tools like Postman or ApiDog.
• 1+ year experience within the railway sector.
• You possess a Master's degree in a relevant field.
• You bring advanced proficiency in Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and SQL for test management and data validation.
• You have a proven track record in test case design, execution planning, and regression validation.
• You're recognized for strong ownership, leadership qualities, and constructive communication skills.
• You are proficient in English.

Nice to Haves

• Practical experience with mobile, accessibility, and cross-browser testing.
• Working knowledge of Dutch or French.
