On this assignment you turn operational data from robotics and automated warehouse systems into trustworthy evidence about system health and performance. This is not a dashboarding project: the data is born in live systems where events get duplicated, delayed or lost, and where the same event means different things across software versions and site configurations. The solution runs close to the machines, mainly on-premise, while staying ready for a future cloud-connected model.
- Build reliable ingestion and processing pipelines from operational databases, APIs and event streams
- Design for event time, duplicates, late or missing events, idempotency, reconciliation and replay
- Model and transform data into versioned, tested datasets and implement the metric calculation logic
- Make data quality, completeness, pipeline health and known limits observable instead of implicit
- Package and deploy the data chain on-premise, contributing to upgrades, recovery, security and connectivity
- Investigate discrepancies with domain experts and guide the first customer pilots to working, explainable results
Who we are looking for
Experience
A medior data engineer with around 3-6 years hands-on, whose strength is keeping real-world pipelines reliable and operational.
Languages
Fluent professional English.
The work runs close to the machines and is mainly on-site, to be agreed with the client.
What you bring
Must have
- Strong hands-on Python and SQL
- Experience with event-driven or distributed data systems
- Experience keeping pipelines running in production, beyond the development environment
- Comfortable with Linux, containers, logs and networking
- Disciplined use of Git, tests and CI/CD
- Able to understand a physical process, learn an unfamiliar domain and turn ambiguous operational behaviour into explicit engineering rules
- A background in data modelling, data-platform engineering or backend software engineering with substantial data responsibility
Nice to have
- Experience with industrial, IoT, edge or on-premise systems
