NESFircroft continue to support a Belgian TSO in their expansion due to major project wins. This role is a Technical Designer Substation (SUB) position supporting a leading TSO, focused on the design and engineering of high-voltage transmission infrastructure (36 kV to 380 kV).

Main Responsibilities

  • Support feasibility and preliminary studies.
  • Produce substation design documentation and drawings.
  • Create:
    • Layout drawings
    • Equipment plans
    • Steel structure drawings
  • Prepare supporting documentation such as:
    • Drawing lists
    • Terminal lists
    • Steel construction lists
  • Coordinate with Civil Works, Power Lines, Project Engineers and Project Leaders.
  • Review external engineering contractors' work when required.
  • Support construction activities and respond to engineering queries.

More Senior Responsibilities

  • Quality review of colleagues' designs.
  • Mentoring and training new designers.
  • Participation in process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or A2 diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Excellent Dutch language skills (training and projects are conducted in Dutch).

Training Programme

A substantial 4-month training programme is provided covering:

Working Arrangement

  • Initially office-based during training.
  • After successful completion of training, up to 3 days per week remote working.
