Brussel Hoofdstad, Belgique Bimona Temps plein 70 000 € - 110 000 € Contrat

We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a one-year mission (renewable) at an energy infrastructure company in the Brussels region. You’ll run and secure a mostly Cisco network that serves offices and industrial sites, so you need solid routing and switching knowledge and a good grasp of firewalls. Start: as soon as possible.

The team

The network team builds, secures and operates the network from LAN to WAN and from the data centre to the cloud, for both IT and OT. Next to daily operations, the team runs projects: data centre connectivity, securing and connecting to the cloud, modernising the WAN, and changes requested by application teams.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and execute network changes with care. In an IT and OT environment, changes are planned, not improvised.
  • Help deploy and maintain IT systems.
  • Work in a team that supports operations running 24/7, including a standby role (maximum one week in four).
  • Support colleagues in Belgium and elsewhere in Europe.
  • Work together with other ICT teams, and travel to Belgian locations when needed.

What you bring

  • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, MP-BGP and MST.
  • Understanding of firewall technologies.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and with Cisco Wireless.
  • Automation experience with Python and/or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of backend tools for monitoring, NAC and central syslog, and experience with TACACS and RADIUS servers.
  • A background in computer science.
  • Dutch or French (a must) and fluent English.
  • Your own car, and you’re open to the standby role.
  • Nice to have: Cisco ACI or Cisco SD-WAN.

The environment you’ll work in

Cisco ACI and SD-WAN, Cisco ASR, ISR, Catalyst and Nexus devices, Cisco wireless, ISE, Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls, Microsoft Azure, Zabbix and Elastic.

Where and how

The work is split between two sites in the Brussels region. The first three months are full-time on site. After that it’s hybrid: three days on site and two days of your choice, as long as the work allows it.
