Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

The position is based in Ghent, Belgium, with a minimum of one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Rewards & Recognition agenda for Developed Markets.
  • Shape and deliver the Rewards & Recognition framework across Developed Markets, setting guiding principles, governance, and frameworks for compensation, incentives, benefits, and recognition.
  • Own the integrity of annual compensation cycles in the region, ensuring quality, equity, and fairness.
  • Translate complex market data and business signals into high-impact, actionable recommendations in collaboration with senior business leaders and HR Business Partners.
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex reward decisions, trade-offs, and risk, including senior leader new-hire packages, retention cases, and pay compression scenarios.
  • Anticipate macro-economic, market, and regulatory shifts, translating them into proactive moves that protect growth and capability building.
  • Partner with Talent Access on competitive offer construction for critical talent.
  • Foster a culture of co-ownership, high collaboration, and continuous development through meaningful Personal Development Plans.
  • Design and operationalise a recognition approach that celebrates contributions within and across project teams, using peer-to-peer, team-based, and milestone mechanisms.
  • Advise on equity programs and collaborate with the Global Equity Lead on regional design and grant decisions.
  • Oversee global mobility in partnership with Legal, global R&R colleagues, and external partners.
  • Co-architect and scale global R&R initiatives, ensuring regional practices elevate the broader strategy.
  • Own and actively execute large-scale, cross-functional global initiatives connecting rewards, talent, and development.
  • Build and steward external partnerships (consultancies, benchmarking providers, peer networks) to bring best-in-class thinking into argenx.
  • Build a high-impact team, leading, inspiring, and developing the HR and R&R teams while managing vendor partners.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years progressive experience in Rewards & Recognition / Total Rewards, with deep expertise across compensation, benefits, mobility, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record operating within a global context, either through end-to-end accountability for a global rewards portfolio or partnering deeply with global colleagues across time zones and cultures.
  • Innovative thinking and a "can-do" attitude, demonstrated by challenging traditional total rewards paradigms and designing creative, modern solutions.
  • Growth-company mindset: background in high-growth organizations actively building and expanding, with a "building the plane while flying" mentality.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders, distilling complex reward concepts into compelling, decision-ready narratives.
  • Demonstrated experience building, maturing, and scaling job architecture, benchmarking capabilities, and advanced market analytics from the ground up.
  • Biotech or pharma experience is not required.
  • Ability to coach HRBPs, business leaders, and global peers as multipliers of R&R fluency.

Success Measures

  • An R&R strategy within Developed Markets fully synchronised with the global framework, meeting local business and market needs (measured by Leadership & HR feedback).
  • Tangible impact of cross-functional global R&R initiatives on priority areas such as critical talent access, rewards, recognition, retention, and capability building.
  • Flawless execution of compensation and benefits cycles, with a clear lift in employee experience and pay transparency.
  • A mature, scalable R&R capability across internal team and external partners that thrives in ambiguity and grows R&R fluency across the business, anchored in Personal Development Plans translating into visible growth.

The annual base salary range for this position is €100,000.00 - €137,500.00 EUR. This job is eligible to participate in short-term and long-term incentives. The range reflects the possible base pay that argenx believes in good faith will be paid for this role at the time of posting. Compensation within this range may vary based on internal equity, education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
