We are looking for an experienced ArcGIS Web Developer to join the GIS team and support the development, enhancement and maintenance of GIS web applications within the Esri platform.
The successful candidate will primarily work with ArcGIS Experience Builder, developing modern, user-friendly web applications that support the organisation's ongoing digital transformation of GIS processes.
Working closely with the GIS Manager, GIS Architect and Functional-Technical Lead, you will translate functional and technical requirements into high-quality applications, ensuring they meet the organisation's performance, reliability and usability standards.
You will also be responsible for improving existing applications, resolving technical issues and supporting integrations and automation using technologies such as FME Form and FME Flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance GIS web applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder
- Build new applications based on functional and technical specifications.
- Maintain and improve existing GIS applications, including implementing user requests and new functionalities.
- Perform software upgrades and optimise application performance.
- Analyse and resolve incidents across production, testing and QA environments.
- Work with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Pro to support the wider GIS environment.
- Develop scripts and automation solutions using Python.
- Support integrations with other technologies, including FME Form and FME Flow.
- Collaborate with the GIS Manager, GIS Architect and Functional-Technical Lead.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of GIS processes and applications.
- Gradually develop knowledge of the water industry, distribution networks and the organisation's Utility Network implementation.
- Work within both Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an ArcGIS Web Developer or GIS Developer.
- Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder.
- Experience developing web-based GIS applications within the Esri ecosystem.
- Good knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience working with ArcGIS Pro.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python.
- Understanding of web technologies and GIS application development.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising existing applications.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a GIS team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with FME Form and/or FME Flow.
- Knowledge of GIS automation and system integrations.
- Experience with Esri Utility Network.
- Previous experience within the utilities, water or distribution network sectors.
- Familiarity with Agile and traditional project methodologies.
- Experience supporting GIS applications across production, test and QA environments.
