YOUR TASKS

• You will dedicate at least 70% of your assignment to scientific research in preparation for a doctoral dissertation in the field of quantitative pharmacology. You will conduct research into predicting how changes in disease state affect the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK-PD) of drugs. To this end, you will develop and apply pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models, informed by in vitro and/or clinical data.
• You will assist in teaching within the Department of Bioanalysis, including the Dutch-taught course “Bio-analytisch practicum” and the English-taught courses “Pharmacokinetics” and “PK-PD in Drug Development”.
• You will supervise Master's students in the context of their thesis projects.
• You will assist in the internal and external services of the department

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a Master’s degree in a field such as Drug Development, Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Care, Bioscience Engineering, or Medicine. The diploma requirement must be fulfilled by the time of appointment.
• For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
• You have an interest in scientific research and pharmacotherapy. Experience in drug research and/or clinical experience with optimizing medication use is considered an asset.
• You are interested in statistical data analysis and pharmacological modeling. Experience with R and/or specialized PK-PD software (e.g., Simcyp, Monolix) is a plus.
• Practical experience with analytical laboratory techniques is a plus.
• You have sufficient knowledge of Dutch and English to support academic teaching and to communicate research findings.
• You have the necessary social skills, flexibility, and critical thinking to function in a multidisciplinary and international academic environment.
  You have didactic and communicative skills. Teaching experience and participation in continuing education, conferences, etc., are considered an asset.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

• We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education
