Internship Description

Objective

Support the marketing team (23 people) in planning and optimising HMS participation in international trade shows and industry events.

The internship takes place within the IDS Marketing Division, specifically supporting the Events Management function. The student will work closely with the Events Manager and collaborate with Campaign Managers, Market Managers, Sales teams, and Product teams to support the delivery of global B2B events.

The role offers hands-on experience across the full event lifecycle, from planning and logistics to execution and post-event follow-up, within an international industrial automation environment.

YOUR MISSION

As part of the IDS Marketing team, you will contribute to ongoing projects and support the team in their daily activities.

Your tasks include:

  • Supporting delivery of the Events 2026 strategy
  • Assisting the Events Manager in coordinating global events
  • Supporting stakeholder management across marketing, sales, and product teams
  • Completing exhibitor/venue portals (company descriptions, press releases, visuals, etc.)
  • Adding and maintaining event information on HMS SharePoint and website
  • Coordinating literature (ordering, stock management, and logistics)
  • Researching, sourcing, and coordinating event giveaways
  • Supporting stand manning coordination and "Save the Date" communications
  • Assisting with ordering branded materials (shirts, badges, etc.)
  • Coordinating accommodation and travel arrangements
  • Supporting restaurant and catering bookings where required
  • Assisting with lead capture tools (setup, testing, and deployment)
  • Helping manage logistics and shipment of event equipment
  • Generating Idea on how to drive people to the stand (external and at the event)

  • You are currently studying Marketing, Business, Events Management, or similar
  • You have strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • You have good communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
  • You are proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn

This final year project is proposed within the Marketing team and addresses a concrete business or technical challenge faced by IDS/HMS. The objective is to allow you to apply academic knowledge to a real‑world case while delivering tangible outcomes for the company.

The objective is to analyse current event strategies, identify improvement opportunities, and develop a data‑driven framework to enhance lead generation, attendee engagement, and post‑event conversion.

Project Scope and Expected Outcomes

You will be responsible for:

  • Analysing current HMS event performance (KPIs, costs, leads, ROI)
  • Reviewing industry best practices and competitor event strategies
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of pre‑event, on‑site, and post‑event activities
  • Identifying gaps in lead capture, qualification, and follow‑up processes
