Job Responsibilities
Design and implement backend services in Python to support asset onboarding, contract management, and market operationsDevelop APIs and data pipelines to integrate application components with the broader information ecosystem, such as other internal and external applications, the data hub and other data storage systems and data consumersBuild integration with messaging systems (MQTT, RabbitMQ) for real-time data ingestionWork with PostgreSQL for relational and time-series data modelling, optimization, and integrityLeverage AWS services (RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, ECS and Docker)Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate business needs into scalable software featuresContribute to agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and team coordination
Must Have Skills
- 6+ years of Python development experience (application development)
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and time-series data handling
- Experience with AWS services (RDS, S3, IAM, ECS, and Docker)
- Understanding of energy trading concepts such as position management, day ahead/intraday markets, and ancillary services
- Experience working with APIs, data pipelines and streaming, and other system integration paradigms
- Familiarity with agile development practices and collaborative delivery environments
Nice to have
- Knowledge of power markets, specifically in renewable technologies (solar, wind, battery energy storage system) and their specificities about contracting (PPA), asset management and energy trading
- Proven experience or willingness to quickly learn developing modern web user interfaces using React with UI styling approach as JSS, CSS-in-JS, Material UI, Emotion, Styled or equivalent technologies
- Experience with FastAPI or alternatives (e.g., Flask, Django)
- Familiarity with container orchestration or CI/CD pipelines
