Activities
The ARA (Amsterdam - Rotterdam - Antwerp) Supply, Sales and Optimisation teams are responsible for supplying raw materials to and selling refined products from the Antwerp platform (Belgium) and the Zeeland refinery (the Netherlands).
The Middle Office is responsible for controlling commercial purchase and sale transactions involving products from the ARA production sites. Team is in charge of price risk management : assessing the price exposure generated by each commercial deal and implementing the appropriate hedging policy to reduce exposure to these price risks.
It also advises the commercial teams on proposed pricing for commercial contracts.
As part of its continuous improvement, simplification and digitalisation program, the ARA Middle Office is seeking a V.I.E. to boost its IT tools and support its digital processes adaptation in context of business changes through the potential use of artificial intelligence agents.
You will work at the interface between the business teams, the Tools & IT support teams and management.
Your responsibilities
- Monthly reporting and continuous improvement of pricing management:
- Contribute to the advanced automation of the monthly results analysis process through the use of artificial intelligence agents. These agents will consolidate data from the various existing tools, automate its processing, enable more in-depth analyses—notably of pricing periods spanning several months—and produce clear, directly actionable management reporting.
- Set up a visual historical record of pricing types by product book and of changes in monthly pricing curves, then cross-reference this information with market data to facilitate analysis and identify areas for improvement.
- Automated, visual monitoring of commercial mandate implementation:
- Design an automated daily monitoring system to reconcile mandates and commercial contracts, identify specific pricing conditions and trigger automatic alerts (retroactive pricing, M+1 pricing, quantity discrepancies) in order to facilitate self-checks. Develop visual reporting, notably in Power BI.
- Automated, visual monitoring of the operational execution of commercial contracts and the positioning of floating pricing: develop KPIs covering logistics flows and contracts to facilitate self-checks. Set up dedicated reporting for flows whose pricing begins on D+1 and identify contracts or nominations deferred to the following month.
- Middle Office training and best practices: help deliver Middle Office training sessions, update training materials and promote the use of newly developed digital tools to support operational and commercial teams.
- Boost development of corporate tools (SAP, COBRISK, etc.): gather and monitor enhancement requirements for the digital tools used by the Middle Office, in coordination with the business support and IT teams, and contribute to user acceptance testing.
