Your role
At Itineris, we are building a lightweight, scalable platform that will serve as the technical foundation for our growing portfolio of Insights and AI-enabled solutions. We are looking for a hands-on Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer ready to grow into an architecture role. You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, platform development and solution architecture, with a strong focus on backend development. You will help define the architecture, but more importantly, you will translate architectural concepts into working software and reusable platform components.
What will you do?
- Design and build backend components inPython/.NETthat form the foundation of our platform.
- Help shape the software architecture of our Insights and AI platform.
- Translate architectural concepts into concrete, working technical solutions.
- Develop reusable platform components that can support multiple Insights solutions.
- Create and validate proofs of concept to test architectural and technical approaches.
- Build technical components and lightweight adapters where needed.
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code to ensure repeatable and scalable deployments.
- Help establish common platform capabilities that support requirements around areas such as compliance, including the European AI Act.
- Prepare mature solutions for handover to the Azure Engineering Team for production management.
- Occasionally join customer discussions to provide technical expertise, while remaining primarily focused on the platform and its internal development.
What we're looking for
You are a strong software engineer who enjoys thinking beyond an individual application.
You combine hands-on development skills with architectural thinking and like turning concepts into solutions that actually work.
Ideally, you bring:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, platform development or a related technical role.
- A strong background in backend software development, preferably with Python/.NET.
- Experience designing software components and thinking about architecture, scalability and reusability.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform services.
- Experience with cloud deployments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- The ability to develop and validate technical concepts through proofs of concept.
- The ability to take technical ownership and provide direction to other engineers.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Preferably, you are based in Belgium and able to regularly work from our office.
Nice to have
- Experience with Data & AI-assisted development.
- Experience building shared platforms, frameworks or reusable components.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
