Overview
Junior Application Engineer Glass (VIE) – based in Nivelles, Belgium. This role is part of the Application and Development Team to support activities in the glass market through the V.I.E. program.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the implementation at industrial scale of innovative solutions and developments related to the glass industry.
- Actively participate in organizing and conducting industrial trials (in France and Europe).
- Organize and conduct field testing of these solutions at customer sites.
- Plan and develop new lab methodologies and experimental plans; conduct lab tests, interpret results, and communicate findings to stakeholders within the organization.
- Support ongoing CAPEX projects; continuously improve lab practices and methods; write protocols and conduct risk assessments.
- Conduct market research and IP surveys; identify innovative ideas and opportunities and communicate them to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Eligible for the VIE program (EU/EEA, Monaco or French nationality, aged 18-28, compliant with applicable national service obligations).
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field; specialization in glass is a plus.
- Business-minded with ability to develop trust-based, professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Data-driven; proficient in MS Excel and Word; familiarity with data/statistical tools is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of project management and ability to participate actively in project phases, milestones, deadlines and stakeholder coordination.
- Autonomous learner; eager to learn from experts.
- Full professional proficiency in English; French or another language is a plus.
- Availability to start anytime between September and December 2026.
