Are you a driven System Security Engineer with a passion for securing complex infrastructures? At Randstad Digital , we are looking for an enthusiastic expert to join our team at a major player in the telecom sector. In this challenging role, you will play a crucial part in implementing security controls within both Windows and Linux environments, ensuring maximum resilience without losing sight of business continuity. You will contribute directly to the robustness and compliance of critical systems, with a specific focus on the new NIS2 requirements .
Location: Brussels Region, Hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
Experience: 3 to 10+ years in system engineering or cybersecurity.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant IT field (e.g., Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or System Administration).
Your Responsibilities:
Implementing and maintaining system-level security controls for Windows and Linux platforms.
Executing continuous vulnerability management and patch management.
Defining and enforcing policies for firewalls, networks, endpoints, and cloud security.
Collaborating with the internal CSIRT to improve detection capabilities.
Evaluating and testing security tools and proposing improvements.
Performing system hardening and configuration management to meet compliance standards.
Partnering with IT teams to guarantee operational stability during security roll-outs.
Assisting in the preparation of operational documentation for NIS2 compliance .
Supporting audits by providing accurate technical input.
Participating in incident and change management processes to ensure secure implementations.
Your Profile:
~3 to 10 years of experience in system engineering or security (Medior: 3+, Senior: 7+).
~ In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy , and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
~ Experience with endpoint security, PKI, vulnerability management, and configuration baselines.
~ Familiarity with NIS2 requirements and ISO27001 principles.
~ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
~ Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, RHCE, or CISSP are a major plus.
~ Knowledge of automation tools ( PowerShell, Bash, Ansible ) is a strong asset.
~ Fluent in English , with good conversational skills in Dutch or French.
~ Currently residing in Belgium.
