Due to recent changes within the Finance & Administration team, we are looking for a (m/f/x)
GL Accountant who will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial processes.
The position:
As a GL Accountant, you are responsible for the overall maintenance of GL accounting records in accordance with the company’s internal rules, IFRS, and French and Belgian GAAP;
You collect the necessary information from various departments to perform and monitor monthly closings for two Krones subsidiaries (France and Belgium) and provide support for two other subsidiaries within the existing organization;
You review accounting entries made by AP, AR, and the bank, and perform entries such as reconciliations, adjustments, reporting, and reclassifications when necessary for our Belgian and French legal entities;
You carry out balance sheet analyses, including explanations and documentation;
VAT declarations, as well as preparing elements for tax returns, are also part of your responsibilities, along with preparation and follow-up of any potential VAT or tax audits;
You actively participate in all activities related to internal (Compliance) and external audits;
You will work from our head office in Louvain-La-Neuve, with the possibility of remote work after a training period;
Occasional travel to France may be required for this role.
Your profile?
As a GL Accountant, you hold a Master’s degree in Economics or a Bachelor’s/Associate degree in Accounting or Finance, and can demonstrate experience in a similar position;
You have strong analytical skills, can work independently, and have excellent knowledge of Excel and SAP;
Basic understanding of Power Query is a plus, as it helps to structure and transform data efficiently for reporting and reconciliation tasks;
You are a team player with good interpersonal skills and a self-driven mindset;
You are a critical thinker, a proactive problem solver, and an effective communicator. Based on organizational needs, you can work efficiently toward objectives with result-oriented deadlines;
You have a good command of French and English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch and/or German is a plus but not mandatory.
