Volonteurope is a European, globally focused, non-profit network dedicated to achieving social justice through volunteering, active citizenship, social action and foresight. Topics of EU-funded projects include democracy, environment, water literacy, foresight, gender history, inclusion and diversity.
Resilience - social, climate and water resilience - is at the core of Volonteurope's operational and strategic engagement. In a time of increasing environmental and social pressures, we work to ensure that communities are empowered to adapt and thrive in the face of systemic challenges.
Volonteurope is seeking a creative and dedicated intern to join our team in Brussels. This is a fully paid internship that offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of social justice, climate and water resilience, and democracy in Europe. As part of this internship, you will:
Support project coordination and research on key areas including water stewardship, environmental justice, and the social impacts of climate change.
Assist in organising events, workshops, and dialogues with European and national policymakers, civil society leaders, activists and young people.
Creativity and awareness of social justice issues
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media applications
Proficiency in English is compulsory. Fluency in French is an asset.
A 6-month fully paid internship, €1150 gross salary, under the Convention d'Immersion Professionnelle (CIP). Candidates must have the right to work full-time in Belgium (CIP contracts cannot be offered to enrolled students).
Full-time position (37,5 hours per week), based in Brussels, with occasional remote work opportunities.
In addition to the above indemnity, a trainee receives:
A monthly net teleworking allowance
A contribution to home-office public transport costs
Training, mentorship, and career development opportunities, including workshops and networking with EU institutions and civil society leaders.
Depending on the funding secured and the organisational fit, there is a possibility of the internship developing into a longer-term role with Volonteurope.
