For a customer in Brussels, I am searching for an Electricity Market Energy expert to work in a team responsible for examining the challenges and proposing and implementing innovative solutions to cope with grid constraints such as congestions.

You contribute to this design finetuning and participate to its implementation. You participate in or lead (part of) the translation of the design note to a set of detailed design proposals in order to facilitate the elaboration by the dedicated teams of the business rules and requirements. Your finally also provide support to our experts for the preparation of the communication towards external stakeholders or internal stakeholders (e.g. public authorities, regulators, distribution system operators (DSOs), market players but also operational teams and IT business analysts).

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyse and define how the design of the GUflex product to evolve taking into account all relevant aspects (e.g. regulatory frameworks, budgets and tariffs, technical and operational impact). Translate those design evolutions into a sound and clear design document.
  • Prepare, present proposals and support external meetings
  • Interpret relevant regulation (ongoind and evolutions of European, Belgian federal and regional frameworks) and analyse the coherency of our proposed design with it in collaboration internal experts
  • Roll out (parts of) projects by serving as project manager or expert in relevant aspects (e.g. market model, operational impact, contractual and legal amendments, IT developments).

Profile

  • You hold a university degree of civil or commercial engineer
  • Experience in the energy sector and the functioning of electricity markets is necessary. You understand how the electricity system and the electricity market work, meaning that you can quickly identify and interpret any obstacles that arise.
  • Familiarity with topics such as congestion management, ancillary services, roles and responsibilities of the BRP, BSP, FSP is a plus
  • You have excellent communication skills (both speaking and writing), allowing you to engage with stakeholders, to produce design notes, regulatory and contractual documents.
  • You have a very analytical mind and are capable of conducting in-depth (economic and/or technical) analyses.
  • You are organised and responsible and can work independently but also in close collaboration and interaction with colleagues or external parties. Project management experience is a plus.
