Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to lead and oversee critical IT projects with significant business impact and high-risk dependencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle, from definition and documentation to successful completion and transition into service. This role demands a proactive leader capable of managing complex projects within a NATO environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Assume full responsibility for defining, documenting, and successfully completing assigned IT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with NATO and Agency processes.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Prepare and submit price proposals, support the release of contractual packages, contribute to source selection processes, and manage contracts in accordance with the defined procurement strategy.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, acting as the single point of contact for assigned projects under the direction of the Transition Manager. Facilitate understanding and agreement on operational requirements among diverse stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk management activities, identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities, assessing their impact and probability, developing mitigation strategies, and reporting to the business.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure effective project monitoring and control processes, including change control, risk management, and quality assurance, are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and control project budgets, including resources, revenue, and capital expenditures, ensuring projects are completed within agreed cost, schedule, and quality parameters.
- Reporting: Provide regular, accurate project status reports and ad-hoc briefs as required, ensuring transparency and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Service Transition: Oversee the transition of projects into operational service, ensuring deliverables are accepted and any change requests are managed appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrable experience in deploying Passive (PNWI) and Active Network Infrastructure (ANWI) in support of NATO installations and facilities.
- Project Management Certification: Professional certification in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMI PMP.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of project management experience within large international organizations, preferably within a NATO or defense context.
- Security Clearance: Possession of a valid NATO Secret security clearance is mandatory.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of NATO procurement processes for ICT projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities effectively.
- Experience in supplier management, contract negotiations, and conflict resolution.
