Environmental Health Safety Specialist

The EHS Specialist supports continuous operations at a high-tech site in Leuven, ensuring safe execution of activities across all shifts. The role provides hands-on safety guidance on site and acts as the primary safety reference during assigned working hours. This position works closely with site leadership, engineering teams, and customer representatives to maintain safe work practices. Act as on-site safety focal point during the shift and manage shift-to-shift EHS handovers. Review, validate, and monitor work permits, risk assessments, and safety-related approvals in coordination with site stakeholders. Perform safety walks, toolbox meetings, and inspections, ensuring timely documentation and closure of observations. Oversee compliance with safety processes including energy isolation, work-at-height, PPE usage, tool condition, and site rules. Track mandatory training completion and proactively coordinate training needs for personnel active during the shift. What we expect from you: Degree in Environment, Health & Safety or equivalent with valid certification recognized by Belgian authorities. Experience supporting safety operations in industrial, technical, or cleanroom environments. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and multidisciplinary teams. Fluent in English; fluency in Dutch is a big advantage. Availability to work fully on site in Leuven with flexibility for night and weekend shifts.
