Agricultural Ingredients Specialist

The Research and Development center located in Brussels is one of the main R&D centers of the Coca‐Cola Company. We oversee the development of new beverages (CSD, juices, iced teas, water, dairy, plant-based beverages ), packages and retail equipment innovation for Europe, Eurasia, Middle East and Africa.
We are looking for a Agricultural Ingredients Specialist to support our growth strategy on nutrition categories, specially plant-based drinks helping to build sustainable ingredient sourcing. Geographical scope will be EMEA and Global. This role is an individual contributor role.
**What will you do for us**:
- Confirm and align specifications of agricultural ingredients with both ingredients suppliers and corporate/quality/SRA/Microbiology/R&D teams.
- Test new agricultural ingredients and new parts in the lab, pilot plant, manufacturing facilities (when applicable), doing all necessary checks on performance.
- Able to understand technical challenges linked to formulation, process, agricultural ingredient sourcing (especially comminuted juices), scale-up.
- Communicate requirements and processes regarding ingredient approval processes to key stakeholders, such as IQD and suppliers.
- Efficiently evaluate and generate documents and input/review agricultural ingredients specifications in TCCC proprietary databases for ingredient and formula approval processes. Accountable for the approval process delivery (Quality, timing & cost) and mastering TCCC proprietary databases.
- Collaborate with corporate stakeholder associated with NIA/Formula processes and suppliers in order to overcome hurdles, accelerate deliverables and improve the performance of TCCC proprietary databases and process of NIA/Formula approval for new categories.
- Make the connection between development work and documentation process for formula readiness for production by means of capturing formula information, doing necessary analyses when applicable.
- Build awareness of system dynamics: concentrate part model, bottler-franchise operating model, value chain, Business Unit structure and supply chain
- Be always updated on “New World of Risk” and taking this into consideration for agricultural ingredient selection, formula and process design to ensure safety (e.g. allergen management, micro risks, product and raw materials sensitivity)
- Be externally focused, identifying and assessing existing and new technologies and ingredients that can bring competitive edge to nutrition categories, specially plant-base and coffee, assess them internally, identifying and suggesting new propositions to bring brand edge.
- Continuous curiosity on competition activities and strategy and trends in the category, identifying growth opportunities.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- At least 1-3 years successful ingredient specialist/product development experience in the beverages industry + 2-4 successful experience in food industry.
- Educational requirements / qualifications: Master or Post-Graduate in food science, chemistry or relative field
- Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Additional language is a plus.
