Overview:
Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health is searching for an Innovation Expert to strenghten our Innovation team in the HQ in Belgium. You will work together with colleagues and external partners to discover, research and develop new products and services that benefit animal feed and/or livestock.

**Responsibilities**:

- Discover, research and develop new molecules, formulations, processes and services that can be applied to animal feed;
- Plan and execute experiments in the lab, including interpretation and reporting of results in internal papers as well as in conference abstracts and peer reviewed journals;
- Design, planning, follow-up and reporting of experiments, trials, studies and analytical services in external CROs;
- Actively participate in project teams, organize work and understand priorities as well as complete assignments accordingly;
- Keep track of the relevant scientific literature and recognize new ideas for product development;
- Participate in and attend (inter)national scientific conferences, seminars, workshops;
- Communicate and interact with all project team members and your global counterparts;
- Work closely together in cross-functional teams (product manager, sales team, customer lab service, regulatory affairs);
- Fulfill general lab supporting activities.

Qualifications:

- Master of Science in Biochemistry, Bioscience Engineering, Industrial engineering or a related field with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a lab environment or a PhD degree in the aforementioned fields;
- Technical expertise in biochemistry/microbiology and knowledgeable in the areas of immunology and biotechnology;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Problem-solving skills when carrying out experiments, and the ability to find creative solutions;
- Tenacity and patience, to see research projects through from design to completion;
- Following lab procedures and safety guidelines closely and conduct experiments in a safe and efficient manner;
- The ability and desire to work in a team;
- Attention to detail;
- Proven track record in scientific writing;
- Must be fluent in English (writing and oral communication).
