**Function Name**: Functional Data Engineer (reporting & dashboarding)

**Location**: Brussels

**Domain**: The Functional Data Engineer will work within the 'Visualization, Innovation and Prototyping' team and will collaborate with internal clients from any and all domains and businesses.

**Context & Mission**: Today, good quality data is gaining in importance within the financial world to the level it becomes its most critical asset. We are organized as such in order to be able to control data but also to “put the data to good use”. A key component of this exploitation is to enable front-end solutions, such as reports and dashboards, where this data can be analyzed.

The mission is to:

- Promote the adoption of innovative solutions like visualization and improved reporting
- Develop reports and dashboards in the context of projects for internal clients
- Steer the Tribe in respect of good uses of the available solutions
- Train experts within the Tribe and the bank
- Support the internal customer in the use of the standard tools for reporting/dashboarding

**Function Description**: The role will mainly involve the following tasks:

- Lead, support and form other data visualization developers in the advanced use of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
- Conduct business analysis, collect business requirements and translate them into high-end Tableau dashboards, from prototypes to fit-for-purpose and industrialized solution.
- Give trainings and educate the organization on the use of Tableau, data communication and visualization best practices.
- Provide leadership in overseeing and enforcing data visualization governance
- Contribute to the definition of guidelines and user interface (UX) standards for interface design, visualization techniques, rich charting and analytic dashboard.
- Serve as an evangelist and promote data visualization through a marketing/entrepreneurial mindset and the execution of the defined communication plan
- Provide support to internal customer for the use of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, from basic questions to advanced debugging.
- Contribute with the market watch, recommend on new trends or products, and support the implementation of new architectural track linked with data visualization

**Education**: Bachelor/Master in UI-UX Design, Digital Marketing,, Business Engineering or IT is a nice to have but not mandatory. Additional certifications or studies in Data Visualization related topics will be positively considered.

**Language**: Fluent in French/Dutch and English

**General experience**: A professional experience of at least 5 year in Business Intelligence, UX Design, digital marketing, or similar is recommended. An experience of at least 3 years as a Tableau developer/expert/trainer is mandatory.

**Business** Skills:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to summarize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Capacity to scope and evaluate project plans for feasibility and workload
- High-end UI-UX design skills applied to dashboarding
- Deep knowledge on the Business Intelligence environment
- Experience with working in a big/complex organization
- Knowledge and experience with banking products/services
- Experience with working in an agile setup

**Technical** Skills
- Expertise in the use of Tableau products (Tableau Desktop, Server, Prep). Experience with other visualization/reporting tools is a plus.
- A solid background on data analytics
- Strong skills with SQL or similar coding languages
- Experience with large data sets (SQL, Oracle, Excel)
- Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with statistics and modeling

**Salary**: €70,000.00 - €90,000.00 per year
