For the Center for X-ray Tomography of Ghent University (UGCT) of the Faculty of Science we are recruiting a 3D Data Analyst.
This is a function in staff category A, with a salary in accordance with the UGent salary scales 7.1 to 9.2.
**Your assignment**
The Center for X-ray Tomography of Ghent University (UGCT) is an internationally recognized center of expertise that provides high-resolution X-ray tomography services to academic and industrial partners worldwide. UGCT has an extensive µCT scanning facility where samples can be imaged with an accuracy of up to a few hundred nanometers in three dimensions.
In order to improve this service, we are looking for a data analyst, who will mainly be responsible for the analysis of the 3D data obtained, and translate it into answers to the customer's questions.
In this position you will:
- Execute and manage service projects on a wide range of materials, mainly for industrial customers
- Perform image analysis with various software tools (VGStudio, Avizo, Octopus Analysis, Dragonfly, Fiji, etc.)
- Data QA, QC and management
- Performing µCT scans
- Develop and optimize the workflows to guarantee smooth and qualitative services
**Your profile**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Experience with image analysis on µCT data (or a comparable microscopy technique) with one of the above-mentioned software packages
- Excellent spoken and written skills in English. Skills in Dutch are a plus
- Knowledge of programming languages such as MATLAB or Python
**Skills and Attitudes**

- Able to work in a structured way and meet deadlines
**Admission requirements**
- You hold a Master of Science degree in physics, geology, materials science, engineering, bioengineer or equivalent degree and you submit a transcript of your degree. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
**What we offer**
We offer a contract of indefinite duration in function class A with a salary in accordance with the UGent salary scales 7.1 to 9.2, determined by your relevant experience at the level of the position.
