JOIN US TO OPEN THE HILTON GARDEN INN BRUSSELS AIRPORT

In view of the upcoming opening of the Hotel and the first restaurant Babette in Belgium, we are recruiting a Financial Controller.

We are looking for a trustable person leading the supervision of the Hotel Finance Office, pertaining to all computerized accounting systems, month-end closing reports; general ledger reconciliation and prepares all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

**Essential and supportive functions**:

- Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses of the hotel
- Analyze financial data of operations in order to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining an efficient operation. Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability.
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts and review problematic accounts. Direct staff in follow-up of accounts.
- Oversee the Finance Team (Hire, train and retain) and ensure all reports are processed promptly such as month-end closing reports, monthly forecast and variance reports and visually review for accuracy.
- Control and track inventories of Hotel's operational.
- Assume cash management responsibilities, including preparation of statement of cash flow and, if necessary, statement of changes in financial position. Establish and audit all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and personnel time records.
- Assist Hotel's Front Office management staff in interfacing front office and back office Micros/Point of Sale systems and troubleshoot complications.
- Conduct monthly payroll audits, issue all paychecks.
- Handle special project assignments as requested by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
- Ensure hotel is in compliance with Group Policies and governmental rules and regulations. Report irregularities and non-compliant situations to General Manager.
- Cooperate with Internal/External audits. Implement agreed upon recommendation
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

In view of the success of your missions, you benefit from the support of the Group Finance Department as well as the General Manager.

The Hilton Garden Inn Brussels Airport** and the Babette Bruxelles will open their doors at the end of 2023. The hotel is strategically located only 8' from the airport. Offers 250 upscale quiet rooms, 2 meeting rooms and 1 fitness room. We are proud to open the first Babette concept store restaurant in Belgium with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

**Work Experience**
Degree in related finance area/hotel management is preferred, you have significant and successful experience in a similar position in the hotel industry ( minimum 3 years). At least two-year full-service accounting experience. Hospitality experience preferred.

Good working knowledge of Hospitality accounting systems

Strong working knowledge of some accounting systems, Excel (Advanced Macros) and Word/MS office

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare and analyse complex financial reports and make judgments.

You are fluent in French, English and Dutch.

You put Guest's satisfaction at the heart of your values. It would be advantageous in this position if you demonstrate the following capabilities: have hotel opening experience, experience in an airport hotel and/or experience in a hotel from a large international chain.
