Ehss Manager

You will be responsible for managing and promoting the safety, health, environment, security and risk management programs of the site, in accordance with company and regulatory policies. Areas of responsibility include active leadership and support for safety and health initiatives, leading continuous improvement in (risk) management systems, emergency preparedness processes. Leading processes to achieve goals and meet them proactively while preventing events, meeting business commitments, and performing effective internal and external communication.

As part of the site with about 40 FTE in total you will have a key position to manage and optimize the site EHSS organization with resources, tools, permits, budget, performance, efficiencies, according to (inter)national and ICL EHSS regulations. This includes ensuring the compliance where you will work in close contact with headquarters, contractors, and external parties.
- The main responsibilities:_
- Lead and implement the OEMS (Operational Excellence Management System in the areas of Safety, Health, And the Environment) and HOP (Organizational and Human Performance), global EHS tools and PSM risk management processes.
- Lead and implement a culture of risk awareness and implementation of JSA risk management processes for roles and tasks, while ensuring the implementation of controls and maintaining awareness of managers and employees to the processes
- Establish and lead emergency preparedness processes, ensure the existence of emergency response team, emergency equipment, emergency routines, and ensure optimal management of emergency events.
- Writing annual work plans of EHS lead and supporting internal and external audits.
- Develop, manage, and evaluate the EHS training program - required for all employees and contractors
- Lead to the implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of management systems ISO45001, ISO14001, and other relevant standards.
- Taking an active part in global work teams, safety and environmental forums, and professional steering committees.
- Coordinate/manage inspection and evaluation of the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliancy within (inter)national EHSS regulations and established industry standards.
- Optimize the EHSS site plan in cooperation with the Site Management Team;
- Participate in site meetings, optimize communication to internal and external customers including the authorities;

**About you**
You have a proven track record in leading and implementing EHSS projects and initiatives. We would like to hear from you how you think we should optimize our safety culture and how you would approach it. To do this we expect you to be pro-active, able to motivate people, passionate and result-oriented.
- We also look for:_
- Educated (bachelor or master) in chemical engineering and or safety.
- EHSS management experience, preferably within a Seveso classified production and/or logístical organization (ADR)
- Proven knowledge regarding the various legal aspects of the EHSS area and establishing/maintaining permits
- Experience in managing EHS process safety plans, risk management, and emergency management
- Strong organizational and leadership skills. Project management capabilities.
- Excellent computer skills and preferably experience with ERP (QAD/SAP) systems.
- Excellent knowledge (verbally and in writing) of the Dutch and English language.
