In this brand new, varied role, you will support the scientists by initiating preparing and completing shipments of biological samples. This concerns a full-time position based on the site of our customer, UCB Pharma, in Braine-l’Alleud. You will work from Monday to Friday with flexibility in working hours, and no shifts.

The team

You are part of an open, encouraging and growing team which belongs to our department Lab and Product Services. This division of Avantor supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for
- Experience:

- Experience in Logistics / distribution is not required, though very much preferred
- Knowledge of Biological materials is an advantage
- Good computer skills, in particular with MS Office
- Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably good in French
- Strong administrative abilities

How you will thrive and create an impact

Administrative support:

- Support the shipping/receiving scientist in identifying any restrictions for the shipment of a certain biological material
- Determine if any import or export permits are required, based on the type of material that is being shipped
- Coordinate and support the creation of shipment specific documents such as shipment invoices
- Act as a single point of contact for both internal and external partners, such as suppliers or scientists
- Coordinate the pick-up and drop off with the shipment carrier
- Update a shipment data with individual information and maintain the internal platform

Logistic Support:

- Support the scientist by preparing packages for shipment and ensure the correct temperature climate
- Pick up and drop off packages from different locations on the site and gather them in a central shipment storage
- Maintain the general storage room on-site
