Payroll Specialist

**Description Overview**:
The Payroll Specialist will Perform payroll and related activities necessary for the calculation of accurate wages and salaries to Company associates.

**Scope of the Role**:

- Calculate biweekly payroll and other miscellaneous compensation payments.
- Summarize information, prepare data for processing on personal computer.
- Determine time worked from time sheets. Verify proper authorizations.
- Resolve pay anomalies from knowledge of Company practices, such as pay rates, overtime, sick, vacation, and holiday pay policies.
- Confer with supervisors and associates when necessary.
- Input employee information and payroll data into personal computer.
- Reconcile wage, hour, salary, and deduction amounts where applicable.
- Prepare data and authorizations for accounting audit.
- Oversee and direct the activities of the payroll coordinator.
- Conduct training to ensure appropriate back-up for essential payroll and benefit functions.
- Prepare payroll related reports.
- Process deductions.
- Calculate payments to outside providers for employee benefits.
- Compile data and file reports as required.
- Establish and maintain directories in HRIS for earnings types, deductions, tax tables, and the like.

**Experience Required**:
High School or vocational qualification, with an accounting/ finance degree highly desirable.

Ideally 5+ years experience in a related role.
