BioLizard is a growing consultancy company providing bioinformatics solutions for our customers in
biotech, pharma and diagnostics. Typically, a lizard adjusts to its surroundings. That is exactly what we
do, we adapt to our customers’ data environment The research field is rapidly becoming more
data-driven, where we strive towards offering state-of-the-art bioinformatics, statistics and machine
learning solutions to help solve our customers’ biological questions. Our habitat is the stretch of land
where both biologists, informaticians and statisticians, both experts and juniors, both academics and
company employees reside.

Our bioinformatics scientists are embedded in the working environment of our customers in a full
time or half-time regime, collaborating on challenging projects in life science. You will contribute to
devising solutions in data integration, analysis pipeline implementation, information visualization and
data learning with a focus on since cell and spatial data. You should be comfortable with
experimental design, software development, and computational omics, and have a particular passion
for analyzing single-cell data to extract valuable scientific insights for our clients. Additionally,
experience or a willingness to work with spatial technologies like immunohistochemistry and Visium is
desirable, and deep knowledge of immunology would be a definite advantage..You play an
important role in functioning as the point of contact to our network of academic specialists, following
up on professional and personal development.

Job requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in bioinformatics, biotechnology, bio-engineering, computational

biology or a similar field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language is required (e.g. Python, R,)
- At least 2 years of experience in single cell technologies and practical knowledge of the most
- common processing platforms (10x, scanpy, Seurat,) is required.- Experience in spatial technologies (immunohistochemistry, histopathology, 10x visium,)

from a computational perspective is required, or motivation for your interest in these
technologies
- Deep immunological knowledge is a major advantage
- Experience in single cell data processing pipelines is a advantage
- Experience in single cell multi-omics, bulk-single cell data integration or single cell atlases is a
- advantage- Knowledge on experimental design for single cell sequencing experiments is a advantage
- Knowledge or background in developmental biology, immunology, clinical biology or
- oncology is a plus- Software development skills are a plus
- Fluent in English, with good communication skills
- Currently living in Belgium, the Netherlands, or France
- Willing to travel when the need arise (depending on project)
- Location: preferably Ghent - Belgium, but this is not a must
