**Data Scientist**:
DataScouts is een data-technologiebedrijf dat zijn klanten ondersteunt bij het opbouwen van markt
- en concurrentie-intelligentie door een AI-enabled workflow te implementeren voor het systematisch ophalen en verwerken van gegevens over concurrenten, innovatieve technologieën en markttrends in snel veranderende omgevingen. Kort gezegd willen we van onze klanten de best geïnformeerde bedrijven ter wereld maken, en bij die missie sluit jij je aan.

**Functie.**:
Locatie: Ons kantoor is in Gent, maar we zijn gewend om op afstand te werken

Als data scientist werk je in een interdisciplinair team van data scientists, data
- en software engineers, designers en projectmanagers, waarbij wiskunde, data en machine learning de belangrijkste troeven zijn van DataScouts, ons Market & Competitive Intelligence Platform. Je bent betrokken bij het verbeteren van autonome Stakeholder Mapping en Trends Analysis, waarbij je vroegtijdige waarschuwingen en blinde vlekken in Market en Competitive Intelligence aan het licht brengt. Je leidt waardevolle inzichten af door gebruik te maken van zowel supervised als unsupervised machine learning methoden. Je bent een persoon met een hoge mate van samenwerking die zijn agenda kan beheren, kan samenwerken met collega's en taken kan prioriteren voor impact. Je zoekt naar manieren om dingen te verbeteren en je leert snel.

**Profiel.**:

- AI-gebaseerde oplossingen bouwen naast het engineeringteam en het engineeringproces ontwikkelen om te schalen met gegevens
- Werken aan gevarieerde datasets om directe inzichten op te bouwen
- Ontwikkelen en trainen van ML-modellen om beter patronen te identificeren en nauwkeurige voorspellingen af te leiden.
- Zeer geoptimaliseerde code schrijven om onze end-to-end machine learning pipelines te bevorderen
- Werken in een multidisciplinaire omgeving met collega's in machine learning, engineering en design
- Samenwerken met onze Product Manager om uw complexe modellen te interpreteren en deze te vertalen naar gebruiksvriendelijke en intuïtieve visualisaties
- Nauw samenwerken met ons ecosysteem en bedrijfsanalisten aan concrete klantcases
- Projectresultaten en deliverables presenteren aan interne teams en onze klanten.
- Gegevens opschonen, analyseren en visualiseren

We verwachten niet dat je een expert bent in alles, maar je moet wel beschikken over:

- MSc of PhD-niveau diploma in een discipline zoals informatica, machine learning, toegepaste statistiek, wiskunde of engineering.
- Python en SQL zijn essentieel, andere talen (bv. R, Java, Scala, Julia) zijn nuttig.
- Diepgaand begrip van moderne, op deep learning gebaseerde NLP.
- Ervaring met een deep learning framework (PyTorch of TensorFlow).
- Een goed begrip van methoden voor het ophalen van informatie en Elasticsearch is een pluspunt
- Ervaring met het schrijven, testen, onderhouden en samenwerken aan een codebase
- Een goed begrip van grafiekdatabases en NEO4J is een pluspunt

Aanvullende vaardigheden en kwalificaties: 
- Gedreven door resultaten en gemotiveerd door het verkrijgen van concrete resultaten.
- Servicegericht, detailgericht en kwaliteitsgedreven.
- Teamspeler
- Sterke analytische en planningsvaardigheden
- staat van dienst in het succesvol leiden van complexe projecten
- Vlotheid in het Engels (zowel mondeling als schriftelijk). Kennis van het Nederlands of Frans is een pluspunt
