**Role Overview**



**We are looking for**:
**Sustainability Champion**
- As the Sustainability Champion at Solvay, you will play a critical role in advancing the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Reporting directly to the Sustainability Director, you will be responsible for implementing and managing sustainability initiatives across various aspects of the organization's operations spanning two GBUs: Technology Solutions and Aroma. Your efforts will contribute to Solvay's mission of creating a more sustainable world while aligning with global sustainability goals and best practices.

**We count on you for**:

- Sustainability Strategy: Collaborate with the Sustainability Director, Industrial, Commercial, and Research & Innovation (R&I) teams to develop, refine, and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with Solvay's long-term goals and objectives.
- Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct regular assessments of the GBUs’ environmental impact and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes tracking key environmental metrics, such as carbon emissions, water usage, waste generation, and energy consumption.
- Carbon Footprint Reduction: Work closely with the Industrial and R&I teams to develop and execute strategies to reduce Solvay's carbon footprint. Set ambitious targets for greenhouse gas emissions reduction and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement carbon-reduction projects.
- Circular Economy Initiatives: Collaborate with Industrial and R&I teams to lead efforts in promoting circularity within Solvay's operations. Identify opportunities for waste reduction, resource optimization, and the incorporation of recycled or renewable materials in products and processes.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Work closely with the HR department and Commercial teams to develop and promote DEI initiatives within the organization. Foster an inclusive work environment that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all employees.
- Sustainable Practices: Propose and promote sustainable practices and initiatives across the two GBUs, including resource conservation, waste reduction, energy efficiency, and recycling programs. Engage with Industrial, Commercial, and R&I teams to implement sustainable practices in their respective areas.
- Compliance and Reporting: This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting Aroma and Technology Solutions sites, R&I and business development for the management of SVHC risks and compliance. Coordinate interface with Corporate in support of SVHCs or SoCs. Advise R&I and product development teams of Materials on SVHC or SoC potential raw materials or products
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (Industrial, Commercial, and R&I), suppliers, customers, and external partners to promote sustainability practices and create a culture of sustainability within and beyond the organization. Engage in direct customer interactions to understand their sustainability needs and address them effectively.
- Sustainability Training: Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops for employees to enhance their understanding of sustainability principles and practices.
- Innovation and Research: Work closely with R&I teams to keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability. Introduce innovative solutions and research opportunities to drive continuous improvement in sustainability initiatives.
- Sustainable Product Development: Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate sustainability principles into product development processes, aiming to create eco-friendly and environmentally responsible products.

- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, chemistry, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in sustainability-related disciplines are a plus.
